Strand Theatre March Event
The
Strand Theatre Preservation Society will present a mystery dinner
theatre entitled, “A Wedding To Die For,” on Saturday, March 11.
The
Society welcomes Karen Vuranch, the writer and director, back for a
second Mystery Dinner Theatre presentation. Karen hails from
Fayetteville, WV and has been called, “West Virginia’s First Lady of
Storytelling.” Along with being a storyteller and a popular living
history performer Karen has written several audience participation
murder mysteries.
“A
Wedding To Die For,” under the direction of Karen Vuranch will have the
audience participate in solving the mystery of a character’s death. The
wedding planner is Marion Amore (Karen Vuranch) who will preside over
the event with a cast of characters who will be portrayed by our own
local talent. Those involved are Dr. Randy Weyrich, Tiffany Turner, Sue
Pettit, Shayna Varner, Jeremy Richter, Janaya Combs, Sheriff John
Gruyinskas and John Chase. Come and join this lively presentation where
you will meet these zany characters, gather clues, interrogate suspects
and then solve who did this dastardly deed.
The
audience participation mystery will be held Saturday, March 11 at
Special Events, 1601 Wheeling Avenue, Glen Dale. A social time will
begin at 6:00 PM, dinner served at 6:30 PM, with the play to follow.
Tickets
may be purchased at Neubauer’s Flowers and by calling Tiffany at
845-3431 or Bonnie at 845-5833. Reservations will close on March 4.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
All
proceeds from the event will benefit the restoration of the Strand
Theatre.
