
Footloose follows Ren McCormack as he is plucked from his native
Chicago and dropped in Bomont, Texas, a town where, due to a tragic
accident, rock n’ roll is frowned upon and dancing forbidden. In his
efforts to fit in, he spearheads the sentiments of the young people
of Bomont when he decides to remove the dancing ban and stand up to
Reverend Shaw Moore, the town’s minister and leader, while wooing
his rebellious daughter, Ariel. As a stranger in a small community,
Ren must confront Ariel’s boyfriend, Chuck Cranston, along with the
naysayers in the town before the people of Bomont will allow dancing
at their senior prom.
Joshua R. Fromhart
(director of last summer’s Beauty and the Beast), is
directing Footloose, and the local cast of 30+ include
Dale Sampson as Ren McCormack and Megan Burrough as Ariel Moore.
Reverend Shaw Moore is played by Brian Terry, and Vera Barton-Caro
plays his wife Vi. Logan Hartle is Ariel’s rough-and-tumble
boyfriend, Chuck Cranston, and Mealody Meadows will play Ren’s
mother, Ethel.
Family is the center
of the Footloose cast. Eight families are involved in the
production. There are a trio of siblings, Darby, Heath, and Mack
Kale in the ensemble, while Brian and Richard Terry play Reverend
Shaw and a company member, respectively. Vera Barton-Caro and Megan
Caro, a mother daughter pair are Vi Moore and a company member; Jim
Hartle, Coach Roger Dunbar, and Logan Hartle are father and son.
Megan and Valerie Roe, mother and daughter, play Ren’s aunt Lulu and
a company member, and another mother daughter duo, Kathy Baxter and
Anita Santilli, play Eleanor Dunbar and a company member. Behind the
scenes, Leslie and Josh Garett are a mother-son musical combination
in the orchestra.

Ariel’s best friend
Rusty will be performed by Melissa Ceo, while Rusty’s love interest
and Ren’s country bumpkin buddy, Willard, is portrayed by Isaac
Jones. Ariel’s other girlfriends, Urleen and Wendy Jo, will be
played by Danielle Payne and Sarah Beth Yoder. Micah Labishak will
be Betty Blast, and Peter Lim doubles as Cowboy Bob and Ren’s Uncle
Wes. Principal Harry will be played by Tim Wilt. Chuck Cranston’s
gang is comprised of Michael Wylie and Carlito Gilchrist, while
Willard’s boys, Garvin, Bickle, and Jeter, will be played by Heath
Kale, Phil Carl, and Mack Kale. David Scherrick will play one of the
local cops.
Rounding out the rest of the company are Dawn Barcus,
Hunter Lockhart,
Ashley Krieger, Darian Pinkston, Jordan Crow, Karlie Walker, Collin
Stipetich, Melodee Smith, Darby Kale, and Nancy Flowers. Behind the
scenes, Footloose’s stage manager is Isaac Crow, costume
heads are Gretchen Schneider and Katie Schockey, dance captain is
Megan Otte, and Donald Laney is choreographer
Footloose jumps
with spirit, dazzling dance numbers, and an electrifying musical
score. It portrays the timeless struggle between innocent pleasure
and rigid morality. It is set in the style of classic 80s musicals
and will have the audience dancing and singing in the aisles. With
this talented group of individuals at the helm, it should definitely
be a show that people of all ages won’t soon forget!
