Footloose follows Ren McCormack as he is plucked from his native Chicago and dropped in Bomont, Texas, a town where, due to a tragic accident, rock n’ roll is frowned upon and dancing forbidden. In his efforts to fit in, he spearheads the sentiments of the young people of Bomont when he decides to remove the dancing ban and stand up to Reverend Shaw Moore, the town’s minister and leader, while wooing his rebellious daughter, Ariel. As a stranger in a small community, Ren must confront Ariel’s boyfriend, Chuck Cranston, along with the naysayers in the town before the people of Bomont will allow dancing at their senior prom.

Joshua R. Fromhart (director of last summer’s Beauty and the Beast), is directing Footloose, and the local cast of 30+ include Dale Sampson as Ren McCormack and Megan Burrough as Ariel Moore. Reverend Shaw Moore is played by Brian Terry, and Vera Barton-Caro plays his wife Vi. Logan Hartle is Ariel’s rough-and-tumble boyfriend, Chuck Cranston, and Mealody Meadows will play Ren’s mother, Ethel.

Family is the center of the Footloose cast. Eight families are involved in the production. There are a trio of siblings, Darby, Heath, and Mack Kale in the ensemble, while Brian and Richard Terry play Reverend Shaw and a company member, respectively. Vera Barton-Caro and Megan Caro, a mother daughter pair are Vi Moore and a company member; Jim Hartle, Coach Roger Dunbar, and Logan Hartle are father and son. Megan and Valerie Roe, mother and daughter, play Ren’s aunt Lulu and a company member, and another mother daughter duo, Kathy Baxter and Anita Santilli, play Eleanor Dunbar and a company member. Behind the scenes, Leslie and Josh Garett are a mother-son musical combination in the orchestra.

Ariel’s best friend Rusty will be performed by Melissa Ceo, while Rusty’s  love interest and Ren’s country bumpkin buddy, Willard, is portrayed by Isaac Jones. Ariel’s other girlfriends, Urleen and Wendy Jo, will be played by Danielle Payne and Sarah Beth Yoder. Micah Labishak will be Betty Blast, and Peter Lim doubles as Cowboy Bob and Ren’s Uncle Wes. Principal Harry will be played by Tim Wilt. Chuck Cranston’s gang is comprised of Michael Wylie and Carlito Gilchrist, while Willard’s boys, Garvin, Bickle, and Jeter, will be played by Heath Kale, Phil Carl, and Mack Kale. David Scherrick will play one of the local cops.

Rounding out the rest of the company are Dawn Barcus, Hunter Lockhart, Ashley Krieger, Darian Pinkston, Jordan Crow, Karlie Walker, Collin Stipetich, Melodee Smith, Darby Kale, and Nancy Flowers. Behind the scenes, Footloose’s stage manager is Isaac Crow, costume heads are Gretchen Schneider and Katie Schockey, dance captain is Megan Otte, and Donald Laney is choreographer

Footloose jumps with spirit, dazzling dance numbers, and an electrifying musical score. It portrays the timeless struggle between innocent pleasure and rigid morality. It is set in the style of classic 80s musicals and will have the audience dancing and singing in the aisles. With this talented group of individuals at the helm, it should definitely be a show that people of all ages won’t soon forget!
