On
Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st, the art of Story Telling returned
again to the Ohio Valley. The Strand Theatre Preservation Society
hosted four well known storytellers for the Third Annual Strand Theatre
Storytelling Festival.
This year's
stellar
performers included
some of the best storytellers in the country...Kim Weitkamp, Kevin Cordi,
and Bil Lepp...
The
Festival included two days of exciting and entertaining events:
On Friday,
the Storytelling Festival began with a performance by the fore mentioned
storytellers at Simpson Church on 7th Street in Moundsville.
On Saturday
there was an Amateur Liar’s Competition held for any person age
16 and up who believed they had mastered the art of storytelling.
A Youth Storytelling Showcase was also held. Both the Amateur
Liar's Competition and Youth Storytelling Showcase were free to the
public. On Saturday evening, all three storytellers will returned
with a second unique performance....
