The Strand Theatre Needs You to Decide…
Each summer
the Strand Theatre Preservation Society chooses a production on behalf of
the community. The Arts Council has always tried to pick the best show
possible. But, who better to pick the next performance, than the community.
So we are asking for your help...
THE NOMINATIONS ARE:

This is a
musical comedy play within a play about an egotistical actor and
producer named Fred Graham and his ex-wife Lili Vanessi who are
playing characters Petruchio and Kate in the Taming of the Shrew.
In both their real world and in their play, they bicker and romance
in a "battle of the sexes." |

SOUTH PACIFIC
-
Nellie, a nurse on a Pacific Island during WWII,
falls in love with de Becque, a local planter. However, when she
learns he is a widower with 2 half caste kids, she cannot accept the
sitution. Meanwhile, Cable falls in love with a Polynesion girl
named Liat. Cable and de Bacque go off together on a spy mission and
the two women wait in hope of their return. |

THE WEDDING SINGER
-
A musical version of the Adam Sandler movie, "The
Wedding Singer" follows a jilted wedding singer and a waitress who
is engaged to a pig of a man as they discover what love and marriage
should be about. |
